Reflection:
“My blood runs cold when Peter talks about becoming a criminal.” It
was approaching the end of Anne’s diary; she had no idea that the eight of the
Annex family would be arrested. In the novel, how they had suffered after being
found was not told.
I think movie is a great assist of words. There are many details can’t be seen in the movie; then Anne’s diary can make it up. Sometimes when words in the diary are too abstract, vision of the movie make them real and vivid.
Though this book was just a teenage girl’s diary, everyone knows that it is more than that. The whole emotion of Anne is all revealed. Anne wrote in her last day, “a bundle of contradiction”. It’s true. Anne was consisted of contradiction, and she knew that. “I’m spilt in two… No one knows Anne’s better side.” I feel anguished that Anne still felt unhappy in the very end of her life.
“The happiness in your own heart can only be dimmed; it will always be there, as long as you live, to make you happy again.” It is hard to imagine that such beautiful words and thought came out from a fifteen-year-old girl. Maybe only when we are under the same condition as Anne encountered can we bear such feeling in mind. It shakes me.
